A one-stop website where you can connect to: (1) the official website to order your free annual credit reports from Equifax, Experian and Transunion; (2) the security credit freeze application pages of each of those companies to place free security credit freezes on your credit reports; and (3) identitytheft.gov to report identity theft fraud and get a recovery plan can be found here.
Remember to space your credit report requests throughout the year since you are entitled to just one free report annually from each of the companies. Also, since a credit freeze on your accounts can have significant practical consequences, institute one wisely and only when necessary.
