Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Brian Dobbs contributed a chapter to the book Fundamentals of Construction Law, Third Edition, a publication of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Forum on Construction Law. This book is a practical and authoritative overview of the subjects that are at the heart of every construction transaction and dispute.
The third edition has been revised and updated, including a new chapter providing an overview of the industry and an introduction to key construction and legal concepts. Each chapter has been updated to reflect current trends, and new sections on integrated project delivery, public-private partnerships, and disputes review boards have been added.
Brian contributed the chapter “Payment Provisions,” which examines construction contract pricing arrangements, payment procedures, and issues related to prompt payment laws, mechanic’s liens, and contingent payment clauses.
