As companies are increasingly looking into options to ensure a safe workplace amid a resurgence in COVID-19 cases, Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Mary Leigh Pirtle provided insights to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in an article discussing employee vaccination policies.

With many employees strongly opposing vaccine mandates and others strongly in support of imposing requirements, employers should ensure they are communicating effectively as they determine the best course of action. Mary Leigh told SHRM it is essential to communicate any expectation regarding vaccination status well in advance of an anticipated return-to-work date.
