We represented SOF Landing LLC (SOF), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that helps Special Operations Soldiers and their families as they transition from military service to civilian life, in a successful status protest.

Seventh Dimension LLC protested SOF’s SDVOSB status in connection with the U.S. Department of the Air Force’s (USAF) Request for Quotations (RFQ) seeking a contractor to provide specialized role players in support of training exercises at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina. The protestor alleged that SOF was not an SDVOSB because it was not listed in SBA’s Veteran Small Business Certification (VetCert) database of certified SDVOSBs, and SOF’s affiliation with another entity created a conflict of interest.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA) denied in part, dismissed in part the protest. OHA agreed with our team’s argument that SOF was an SBA-certified SDVOSB at the time of proposal submission, and SOF did not enjoy an unfair competitive advantage or conflict of interest with the alleged affiliation.
