Representation of Healthcare System: Investigation of Potential Diversion and Compliance Enhancements

We represented a Texas hospital and its national healthcare system in connection with an investigation of potential controlled substances diversion by a former hospital nurse. We conducted an internal investigation, reported our findings to the DEA, and assisted the client in responding to regulatory inquiries. Following the investigation, the DEA took no action against the facility. We also advised the client on compliance enhancements and process improvements designed to reduce the risk of future diversion events.
