Attorneys from our Memphis office partnered with the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands to assist a pro bono client in successfully appealing a denial of her Social Security disability benefits. Prior to representation, our client’s disability benefits had been discontinued by the Social Security Administration upon her continuing disability review—a decision that was later upheld during the reconsideration stage of her appeals process. At a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge, we were able to present new evidence of our client’s disability, which ultimately led to a ruling in our client’s favor and a full reinstatement of her disability benefits.
