Alere CON Approved for Middle Tennessee Region

Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel to Alere Women’s and Children’s Health LLC in its efforts to obtain a Certificate of Need (CON) to expand its existing homecare operations from 14 to 36 counties in and around metropolitan Nashville, Tennessee. Despite last-minute opposition from one of the state’s largest homecare providers, the project was unanimously approved by state regulators. The expansion of Alere’s services into more rural areas in Middle Tennessee will dramatically improve access to critical maternal and fetal medicine services in the state.

Alere specializes in homecare services for high-risk obstetrical patients who are suffering from serious pregnancy-related conditions, including premature labor, gestational diabetes and hypertension.
