Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Danielle Sloane will speak at the G2 Intelligence’s Outreach Lab Leadership Summit at the session titled, “Market Your Outreach Program with Compliant Sales and Marketing Policies and Procedures.” This session will address how labs can achieve sales goals without running afoul of healthcare fraud and abuse laws. Labs, like other businesses, need sales and marketing expertise to survive and grow in a competitive market. But certain sales and marketing activities can create liability risks under healthcare fraud and abuse laws such as the federal Anti-Kickback Statute. Danielle will help attendees identify the risks to avoid in sales and marketing an outreach program and review the latest compliance guidance from the government.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the risks associated with various sales and marketing activities including commission-based compensation structures
  • Consider whether and when donations and free lunches or other items are permissible
  • Discuss the most recent advisory opinions applicable to laboratory operations

The program will be held May 11, 2017, in Atlanta. more information about the program can be found on the G2 website.
