Bass, Berry & Sims is pleased to partner with the U.S. Commercial Service for a seminar titled “Making Sense of ITAR, EAR, OFAC and Other Trade Controls.” Bass, Berry & Sims attorneys Thad McBride and Cheryl Palmeri and Craig Pettit, Director of International Operations and Compliance at Bridgestone Americas, will help attendees understand United States trade controls, including the following:

  • Defense export controls administered by the U.S. State Department under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Commercial or “dual use” export controls administered by the U.S. Commerce Department under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • U.S. economic sanctions and embargoes administered by the U.S. Treasury Department, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

While the seminar is tailored to small- and mid-sized companies that operate – or want to operate – outside the United States, any member of the exporting community is welcome to join us.

This event will take place on Wednesday, March 2 from 9:30 am-3:00 pm CT at Bass, Berry & Sims’ Nashville office. The cost to attend is $79.00.
