Bass, Berry & Sims members Matt Curley, Anna Grizzle, Lisa Rivera and Nesrin Tift will attend the Healthcare Law & Compliance Institute, sponsored by the International Practice Management Institute (IPMI). The Institute brings together healthcare general counsel and compliance officers of providers throughout the United States for robust discussions of the most challenging compliance and enforcement issues facing the healthcare industry.

Matt Curley and Anna Grizzle have chaired the Healthcare Law & Compliance Institute for more than a decade. “Our firm has had an extraordinary partnership with IPMI since 2013, and we are grateful for the opportunity to chair the Institute again this year,” said Anna Grizzle. “The programming reflects the tremendous investment of time and energy that goes into making the Institute one of the premier healthcare compliance events in the United States each year.”

In addition to chairing, our team will be speaking on three panels. Matt will be presenting in a panel titled “Critical Insights, Updates and Considerations in the Healthcare Law Landscape,” in which Matt, alongside co-panelists Laura Keidan Martin (Katten) and Leigh Oliver (Clifford Chance), with moderator Rich Korman (Avera Health), will cover key legal developments, regulatory challenges and strategic considerations impacting healthcare providers in a rapidly evolving industry.

Matt will also moderate the panel titled “Navigating the Complexities of False Claims Act Investigations and Whistleblower Complaints” alongside Lee Dilworth (President & CEO, ReVIDA Recovery Centers). Matt and Lee will explore the significant challenges healthcare providers face during False Claims Act investigations, including the increasing complexity of whistleblower activity, heightened scrutiny involving compliance officers or senior executives, and the implications of government positions that can influence an organization’s response and potential exposure.

Lisa Rivera will present in the panel titled “Calm Under Fire: Risk Management Considerations in Chaotic Times” alongside Allison Stocker (Baptist Health). In their panel, Lisa and Allison will explore strategies for assessing risk in unpredictable environments, navigating legal and regulatory obligations during crises, and building organizational resilience through strong leadership and sound risk management practices.

The Healthcare Law & Compliance Institute will be held February 22–24, 2026, at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida.
