Sheaniva Murray represents clients in response to government actions, investigations and other litigation related to claims brought under various federal and state regulations. In addition, Sheaniva regularly counsels healthcare companies on healthcare fraud and abuse matters related to alleged violations under the False Claims Act (FCA), Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), the Stark Law and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rules.
Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Sheaniva was a legal fellow in the Office of General Counsel at Inova Health System. In this capacity, Sheaniva researched federal and state regulations affecting health systems and providers related to reimbursement, data privacy, licensing and certification, and operational compliance. Prior to and during law school, Sheaniva worked in government affairs. Her background in policy and work with healthcare providers, patients, and health systems, informs her approach on healthcare compliance matters and government investigations.
Sheaniva earned a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.A. in political management from The George Washington University and a B.A. in liberal arts from The Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University.
