Ryan Lee advises clients in various construction-related litigation matters, such as disputes related to contractor licensing, design and construction defects, mechanics’ and materialmen’s liens, and Prompt Pay Act and other payment issues. In addition, Ryan drafts and negotiates many types of construction, design and related contracts.

Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Ryan worked at the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Financial Division where he represented state agencies in regulatory and litigation matters involving insurance licensing, utilities, unclaimed property, and constitutional challenges. Ryan also served as regulatory counsel for the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System’s alternative investment portfolio where he negotiated complex commercial agreements for private equity, strategic lending and real estate transactions. Prior to moving to Nashville, Ryan was based in Chicago where he was an associate working with clients on construction and commercial litigation matters.
