Bruce Foster has practiced in the Bass, Berry & Sims office in Knoxville since it opened in 1991. His practice concentrates on general business law, litigation matters and mediation. Bruce earned B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee. He served as president of the Knoxville Bar Association and president of the Young Lawyers Conference of the Tennessee Bar Association and as a member of the Tennessee Appellate Court Nominating Commission. He served in the Tennessee State Constitutional Convention of 1977, and from 1980-81, he served as an appointed Special Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court. Bruce is a member of the Tennessee Supreme Court Historical Society, the Lex Mundi College of Mediators and the Hamilton Burnett Inn of the American Inns of Court, which has designated him Master of the Bench. He is a mediator certified by the Tennessee Supreme Court under Rule 31, and certified by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Bruce has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® since 1987.
