Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Mi-Yong Kim was quoted in in Business Weekly Taiwan about the U.S. Department of Commerce’s newly released semiconductor export controls to China. The article examines the impact of the new regulations on Chinese American individuals working in semiconductor businesses.

In the article, Mi-Yong pointed out that many Americans in administrative and management positions in China who are not directly involved in the development and production of chips may still be included in this regulation, and there is still a lot to be clarified in the rule. The U.S. government needs to clarify as soon as possible the level of “support” and which “services” fall under U.S. person controls.
