Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Bob Cooper provided insight for an article outlining the role that state attorney generals (AGs) play in fighting on behalf of military members who are often the targets of financial scams. The article stressed the importance of how state AGs around the country rely on each other for assistance in various litigation related to violations of consumer protection laws. Bob, the former attorney general in Tennessee who won a $2.2 million settlement, commented on the importance of this work, saying “We have military men and women who should be focused on their mission, who were being distracted by these fraudulent sales that were creating unnecessary anxiety for them.”
