Bass, Berry & Sims Welcomes 8 Attorneys to the Firm

Nashville, Tenn., (June 12, 2018) – Bass, Berry & Sims is pleased to welcome eight new attorneys to the firm – six in Nashville and two in Memphis.

Allison Wiseman Acker (Associate, Nashville) represents clients in complex business litigation, including securities class actions, derivative suits, and litigation related to mergers and acquisitions and breach of fiduciary duty. Prior to joining the Bass, Berry & Sims, she was an associate at Hunton & Williams, LLP in Richmond, Virginia. Acker earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School (2014) and a B.A. from Villanova University (2009).

Wilmoth H. Baker, IV (Associate, Nashville) counsels clients on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and public company disclosure. Prior to joining the firm, Baker was an associate at K&L Gates LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina. He earned a J.D. from Duke University School of Law (2014) and a B.A. from Duke University (2010).

K. Stewart Day (Associate, Nashville) advises companies on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and securities regulations matters and filings. His practice also includes insurance regulatory matters. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Day was an associate at Wiley Rein LLP in Washington, D.C. He earned a J.D. from Duke University School of Law (2016) and a B.A. from Duke University (2011).

Michael J. DeAgro (Associate, Nashville) provides healthcare regulatory counsel as it relates to compliance, operational and transactional matters. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, DeAgro was the Health Law Fellow in the Office of the General Counsel at MedStar Health, Inc., a nonprofit health system that is the largest provider in Maryland and the Washington, D.C. region. He earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center (2016) and a B.A. from Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management (2013).

Kaitlyn L. Dunn (Associate, Nashville) counsels healthcare clients in matters related to regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, and government investigations. Prior to joining the firm, Dunn was an associate with Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP in Nashville. She previously served for three years as Associate Counsel at the HHS-OIG, where she was team leader for the New York, Chicago and Kansas City regions. Dunn’s hire adds to the firm’s deep bench of HHS-OIG experience as she is the second alum from HHS-OIG to join the firm in 2018. Dunn earned a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law (2013); an M.P.H. from Tufts University School of Medicine (2013); and a B.A. from Syracuse University (2007).

Jonathan T. Hasebe (Senior Corporate Attorney, Nashville) represents private and public companies in various corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity backed financings and general corporate strategic issues. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Hasebe was an associate at Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A. in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned a J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School (2010) and a B.A. from Brown University (2005).

David W. Marshburn (Associate, Memphis) advises clients on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and securities regulations matters and filings. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Marshburn served as a law clerk with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee. He earned a J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law (2017); an M.B.A. from the University of Memphis Fogelman College (2017); and a B.A. from the University of Alabama (2014).

Jessica R. Reeves (Associate, Memphis) counsels clients in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate and advises on a variety of debt financing transactions. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Reeves was an associate in the Nashville and Memphis offices of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP. Reeves earned a J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law (2013), an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management (2010), an Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education (2008), and an A.B. from Dartmouth College (2004).
