Associate — Healthcare Mergers & Acquisitions

Associate — Trusts & Estates

The attorneys in our Trusts & Estates Practice Group are highly regarded for their experience in all aspects of estate planning. Since estate planning involves much more than preparing tax efficient wills and trust agreements, our trusts and estates attorneys regularly provide advice to clients on a broad range of both tax and non-tax issues. These include family-owned and closely held business planning, asset protection, special needs planning, and general family planning. Bass, Berry & Sims has one of the most experienced and sophisticated Employee Benefits practices in the Southeast. We partner with public and private employers, benefits consultants and third party administrators in the design, drafting, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive range of employee benefits plans. Staff Attorney — Labor & Employment

Our Labor & Employment Practice Group counsels employers in labor and employment matters in three broad categories: day-to-day employment counseling, training and auditing; employment litigation; and traditional labor law. Our clients include union and non-union companies, as well as public and private employers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small, locally-owned businesses across a wide variety of industries.

Our Nashville office is seeking a staff attorney with a minimum of two years of management-side labor and employment experience. Primary responsibilities to include, but not limited to, research; project-based work such as audits and employee handbook reviews; document review, including e-discovery; responding to written discovery, drafting employment agreements and EEOC position statements; and due diligence in the context of corporate mergers and acquisition transactions.

Washington, D.C.

Associate — Patent Litigation

Our experienced Intellectual Property litigation team handles an array of IP disputes for market leaders, fast-growing startups and individual innovators across many industries and a broad range of technologies at the bargaining table and at trial. Our IP litigation team regularly represents clients in federal and state courts, at both the trial and appellate level, as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the American Arbitration Association. Our IP litigators consistently have been successful in the federal courts where IP disputes are most often litigated, including appearances in more than 15 U.S. District Courts during the last five years.

Our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group is seeking an experienced patent litigation attorney to join our growing patent team in the Washington, D.C. office. Successful candidates will have one to three years of experience practicing in United States district and appellate courts. Attorney must be admitted to the USPTO.  A technical background in mechanical engineering is strictly required. Attorney should be able to work both independently and in a team environment with instruction from more senior attorneys. Associate — Healthcare Fraud & Abuse

With our base in Nashville, the nation’s healthcare capital, and our office in Washington, D.C., our healthcare fraud and abuse attorneys understand both the business and the politics of healthcare. Our counsel goes beyond the legal issues to consider all of the operational and management issues a healthcare organization faces when a healthcare fraud and abuse matter arises. We routinely represent healthcare providers faced with fraud and abuse enforcement actions by the government and litigation stemming from those enforcement efforts. Our practice is led by our Healthcare Fraud Task Force, which includes former members of the U.S. Department of Justice and a number of former Assistant U.S. Attorneys with significant experience handling healthcare fraud matters across the country. Our attorneys bring the knowledge of having worked inside the government, providing great insight into how HHS-OIG, U.S. Department of Justice and the various State Attorneys’ General offices think about fraud and abuse in healthcare and the strategies they use to pursue these cases.
