Associate — Employee Benefits

Bass, Berry & Sims has one of the most experienced and sophisticated Employee Benefits practices in the Southeast. We partner with public and private employers, benefits consultants and third party administrators in the design, drafting, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive range of employee benefits plans. Our attorneys also: (1) provide ERISA fiduciary guidance and guide employers through the changing landscape of employer-sponsored health plans; and (2) provide employee benefits expertise in mergers and acquisitions and with respect to executive compensation.

Our Nashville or Memphis office is seeking an attorney with at least two years of solid ERISA and employee benefits experience. Experience with executive compensation is helpful, but is not required. Consideration will be given to candidates with an LLM in Tax. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated interest in working in a highly collaborative environment that encourages associates to work directly with clients. In addition, candidates must have a strong academic record, paired with the skills, enthusiasm and commitment to become a partner of our firm. Washington, D.C.

Associate — Patent Litigation

Our experienced Intellectual Property litigation team handles an array of IP disputes for market leaders, fast-growing startups and individual innovators across many industries and a broad range of technologies at the bargaining table and at trial. Our IP litigation team regularly represents clients in federal and state courts, at both the trial and appellate level, as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the American Arbitration Association. Our IP litigators consistently have been successful in the federal courts where IP disputes are most often litigated, including appearances in more than 15 U.S. District Courts during the last five years.

Our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group is seeking an experienced patent litigation attorney to join our growing patent team in the Washington, D.C. office. Successful candidates will have one to three years of experience practicing in United States district and appellate courts. Attorney must be admitted to the USPTO.  A technical background in mechanical engineering is strictly required. Attorney should be able to work both independently and in a team environment with instruction from more senior attorneys. The ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form is required. Candidates also should possess a strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
