Our Commercial Real Estate and Finance Practice includes representing REITs and other real estate developers and investors in the acquisition, disposition, financing, sale-leaseback, development and leasing of a wide variety of commercial real estate projects. We also represent both borrowers and lenders in commercial loan transactions.

Bass, Berry & Sims advises public and private companies on intellectual property (IP) matters across a variety of industry sectors. Our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group provides business-oriented, practical solutions to legal issues that are faced by clients at every stage of the business cycle in domestic and international transactions that involve IP rights and technology. Our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group has an opening for a patent agent or associate with a minimum of two years of experience. This position may be based in our Washington, D.C. or Nashville offices. Successful candidates will be admitted to the USPTO and have extensive experience in biotechnology, biomedical engineering, molecular biology or similar disciplines. Candidates with a Ph.D. and lab or research experience are preferred. The role requires at least two years of experience drafting patent applications and conducting U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.

The ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form is required.
