Taylor's practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions and both publicly traded and closely-held owners and operators in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing, management and disposition of real estate and other assets. Taylor has broad experience in the management, foreclosure and sale of underperforming assets and collateral and is a member of the firm's Distressed Asset Task Force.

Representative Matters include:

Financial Transactions:
  • Disposition of defaulting developers’ assets by national bank operating in multiple states.
  • Acquisition in foreclosure of developers' assets by nationally recognized state bank.
  • Developers' and owners' counsel in the negotiation of construction, bridge and permanent credit facilities.
  • Lenders' counsel in the sale and purchase of notes secured by residential and commercial properties.

Real Estate:
  • Landlords’ and tenants’ counsel in the management and leasing of office, retail and warehouse space.
  • Development of residential, retirement, retail and mixed-use projects and communities.
  • Advising clients in the entitlement process, including zoning, land use, and certain tax incentives.
  • Acquisition, management and disposition of multifamily and self-storage properties.
  • Resolution of title issues and disputes.

Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, Taylor practiced at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP and a predecessor commercial real estate firm. Taylor holds an undergraduate degree in English Literature, with a minor in Latin, and aims to fill his time outside the office with a lifestyle of worship, through the light of the scriptures, and in fellowship with his wife, four children, and the body of Christ.
