Seth joined Bass, Berry & Sims PLC in March 2007 as an associate in the firm’s Healthcare Practice, where he focuses on healthcare regulatory and government enforcement and compliance matters. He represents various providers in Medicare and Medicaid certification and compliance issues and state licensure. In addition, Seth represents clients in government payor claims audits, including Medicare audit and overpayment disputes and appeals including disputes with Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs), Zone Program Integrity Contractors (ZPICs) and Medicaid Integrity Contractors (MICs). His clients have included hospitals, surgery centers, independent diagnostic test facilities (IDTFs) and physician groups, as well as an adult day care center and an ambulance company. Seth has experience working with healthcare clients responding to governmental inquiries and who are involved in litigation relating to Medicare and Medicaid fraud.  He is currently a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Nashville Health Care Council.

He graduated with university honors from Brigham Young University in 2003 with a B.A. in economics. While at Brigham Young, Seth taught Spanish part-time and was selected as a writing fellow. Seth published a summary of his honors thesis research, “The Marginal Utility of Student Writing.”

Seth received his J.D. with honors and a Masters in Public Health from Emory University. While in law school, Seth was vice president of the Emory Health Law Society and a member of the Emory Negotiating Team. Also during law school, Seth clerked in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In 2007, he was named as recipient of the ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law and also received the Annual Health Law Student Award from the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics.

Seth is married to Gretchen Killingbeck, and they have one daughter, Kensington. He lived in Argentina for two years and in London, England for a semester. He currently co-directs the youth group at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the southern Middle Tennessee area and is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.
