Healthcare Finance

Healthcare finance transactions require additional skill and experience and a greater level of industry-specific knowledge than extensions of credit to unregulated borrowers. Clients have turned to us for representation in more than $16.5 billion of these transactions in the past five years. Our familiarity with the trends and the participants in this industry allows us to know the lending market and to provide a sophisticated, practical and cost-conscious approach to healthcare finance transactions.

Having represented both borrowers and lenders in healthcare financing transactions, we have seen both sides of the table and are able to focus on the unique aspects of these deals. Our lending and healthcare attorneys collaborate to provide an interdisciplinary and coordinated approach to matters involving healthcare finance with a high level of industry-specific knowledge.

We represent owners and operators of hospitals, senior living facilities, ambulatory surgical centers and a wide range of other healthcare service providers, both public and private, in connection with their credit facilities, acquisition financing, project financing, construction financing and other financing needs.

We represent owners and operators of hospitals, senior living facilities, ambulatory surgical centers and a wide range of other healthcare service providers, both public and private, in connection with their credit facilities, acquisition financing, project financing, construction financing and other financing needs.

We have particular experience dealing with loans involving specialty lenders such as healthcare REITs and other lenders that specialize in financing healthcare companies, as well as senior housing financing from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to our senior living clients.

We also routinely work with joint ventures, bankruptcy-remote special purpose entities, and other borrower structures that bring additional layers of complexity to financing transactions.

We represent both borrowers and lenders across the country in a variety of healthcare loans and other financing transactions, including:

  • Asset-based loans
  • Asset securitizations
  • Letters of credit
  • Syndicated credit facilities
  • Interest rate swaps
  • Equipment financing
  • Equipment leasing
  • Real estate and construction loans, and
  • Project financings and sale-leaseback transactions.
