Riney Green is a Member in the firm's Corporate and Securities and Healthcare Practice Areas. He has more than 20 years of experience, representing clients in the areas of corporate, mergers & acquisitions, commercial and securities law.  Riney's work has included various matters related to healthcare providers, private equity funds and manufacturing businesses. His recent transactions include M&A and corporate representation of a publicly-traded healthcare company and of a major southeastern U.S. private equity buy-out fund and its portfolio companies.

Riney is named in The Best Lawyers in America® for Mergers & Acquisitions Law and Corporate Law and was listed as one of the Nashville Business Journal's Best of the Bar in 2006.  Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, he was a Member at Stites & Harbison PLLC in Nashville.

He is the chair-elect of the Board of Trustees of the Tennessee Bar Foundation.  Riney is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations and is the 2008-2009 chair of the Business Section of the Tennessee Bar Association.  He is a past recipient of the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award by the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations and of the ABA Pro Bono Publico Award.  Riney was also recently president of the Exchange Club of Nashville.

He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia in 1980 and is a 1977 graduate, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, of Vanderbilt University.  He is an avid long-distance runner, having completed seven marathons, including the 2008 Boston Marathon.
