Russell S. Baldwin joined Bass, Berry & Sims PLC in November of 2002 as an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Area.

Before joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Russell served as an Assistant Tennessee Attorney General, where he represented the State in appellate litigation, legislative affairs, and litigation to defend and enforce an historic $4.8 billion settlement between the State and several leading tobacco manufacturers.

Russell served two years in the United States Army and is currently an active member of the Tennessee Army National Guard, where he serves as Assistant State Staff Judge Advocate.

Russell graduated cum laude from Murray State University in 1995 with a B.A. in philosophy.  In 1998, he received his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Memphis.  While in law school, Russell served as articles editor for the University of Memphis Law Review and was a Cecil C. Humphreys Law Fellow.  He also received the H. H. McKnight Memorial Scholarship and the Dean's Award for Distinguished Service.
