Ryan has represented a wide range of clients, concentrating his practice on representing clients in the financial services industry. His practice focuses on civil litigation and arbitration.

Financial Products & Broker-Dealer: Ryan devotes a considerable portion of his practice to representing broker/dealers and registered representatives in customer disputes, typically in arbitration.

Intellectual Property and Technology: Ryan is active in the design and use of technology to help both clients and the firm solve problems and improve efficiency.

Representative Matters include:
  • Customer Disputes – Ryan has represented a number of financial services entities and their registered representatives in proceedings involving customers asserting various claims, including securities law violations, breach of contract or fiduciary duty and fraud or misrepresentation. In addition to representing these clients in the arbitration proceedings, Ryan has been involved in related court proceedings, including proceedings to enforce arbitration agreements and to confirm arbitration awards.
  • Unfair Competition Cases – Ryan has represented entities and individuals in court and arbitration proceedings involving claims that arise from the departure of one entities’ employee(s) to a competitor.
  • Employment Cases – Ryan has represented entities in court and arbitration proceedings involving claims that arise from the termination of an employee.

Outside of the office, Ryan coaches the Houston High School Mock Trial Team. As a private pilot, he flies a 1941 Piper Cub Cruiser. Ryan also enjoys sailing and is building a small wooden sailboat, a project that has become perpetual.
