In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins.   • Healthcare Disputes –Representing hospitals and healthcare providers facing managed care payment disputes with third party payors, involving analysis of regulations and statutes, such as ERISA and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; advising clients on risk management issues; and defending providers against professional liability actions, including wrongful death and negligence claims.
  • Business Disputes – Representing financial institutions and other businesses in a variety of cases involving breach of contract or fiduciary duty; misrepresentation; securities violations; regulatory compliance matters, including violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA); administrative hearings involving utilities and other regulated entities; and other business-related activities.
  • Products Liability & Torts – Defending manufacturers and sellers of food, medical devices, and electronic devices in product liability actions.
