Melisa Wimsatt is the Lateral Recruiting and Development Manager at Bass, Berry & Sims. She is responsible for ushering lateral candidates through the recruiting and hiring process and for assisting all firm attorneys in ongoing professional development activities. As part of her lateral recruiting duties, Melisa works closely with attorneys and firm administration to identify and recruit potential candidates that align with the growth plans set forth in the firm's strategic plan. She also works closely with the firm's Professional Development Committee to plan and promote relevant activities that provide attorneys with the tools they need to deliver maximum value to clients. In addition, Melisa oversees the training and development activities throughout the firm for all employees.
Melisa is a member of the Association for Talent Development and a past board member for the Tennessee chapter of the organization. Prior to joining the firm, Melisa held positions in the training and development fields in a variety of industries, including healthcare, nonprofit and outplacement/recruiting. She earned a B.A. in psychology and an M.S. in social work from the University of Louisville.
