Primary Care Providers Win Challenge of CMS Interpretation of Enhanced Payment Law

With the help and support of the Tennessee Medical Association, 21 Tennessee physicians of underserved communities joined together and retained Bass, Berry & Sims to file suit against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to stop improper collection efforts. Our team, led by David King, was successful in halting efforts to recoup TennCare payments that were used legitimately to expand services in communities that needed them. Read more

Ashley Thurman is an associate in the firm's Corporate & Securities Practice Group. She assists clients with matters related to corporate governance, SEC filings and offerings work, and mergers and acquisitions.

Ashley joined Bass, Berry & Sims after earning her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee. She earned a B.A. in political science from Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt University, she participated in the Collegiate Leadership Vanderbilt Program, a leadership development program in which students learn from various entrepreneurs in the Nashville community. Her time at the University of Tennessee is marked by her commitment to community service and pro bono, including assisting in the development of the 2013-2014 curriculum for UT's Street Law Pro Bono project, a program aimed at informing high school aged youth of legal issues that affect them most.
