In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins. Peter focuses his practice on banking matters including lending, regulatory, corporate representation, leasing and real estate transactions.

  • Financial Transactions – Peter represents several state and national banks. As special counsel, he is involved in structuring commercial transactions including asset-based loans, real estate development, construction lending and equipment financing. Peter has extensive experience in counseling clients with respect to bank regulatory matters and creditor relations involving lender liability and loan workouts.

Peter spent most of his career running Malone & Hyde Financial Corp., a captive financial subsidiary of a wholesale food distributor with a portfolio in excess of $200,000,000. He later became President and CEO of Seven Oaks International, a publicly traded coupon clearing house.

Peter is a board member and past Chairman of ArtsMemphis. He also is on the board of directors for American Cancer Society (ACS) Mid-South Division, Inc. and successfully co-chaired an $8,500,000 campaign for the Memphis ACS Hope Lodge which opened December 2010. He currently serves on the UVA Memphis Jefferson Scholars Committee and is a Trustee of the Plough Foundation.
