In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins. Nick Grunenwald counsels clients on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and public company disclosure. He works within a range of industries, including banking and finance, government services and healthcare.

He has participated in several notable deals including the merger of two publicly traded healthcare companies, an all-stock transaction valued at $10 billion, and an NYSE-listed company's $1.3 billion debt refinancing.

Nick earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. During law school, Nick interned for Judge Pamela Reeves in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He earned a Master of Science degree in political science from Idaho State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from Louisiana Tech University.
