On December 1, 2016, Parker Hannifin Corporation and CLARCOR Inc. announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Parker will acquire CLARCOR for approximately $4.3 billion in cash, including the assumption of net debt. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the board of directors of each company. Upon closing of the transaction, expected to be completed by or during the first quarter of Parker’s fiscal year 2018, CLARCOR will be combined with Parker’s Filtration Group to form a leading and diverse global filtration business. Jaime Barwig counsels clients from diverse industries, such as retail, healthcare, media and technology, on matters affecting intellectual property ownership, development, commercialization and protection, as well as data protection and privacy matters. She helps clients navigate intellectual property (IP) issues and protect their IP assets, and represents clients in a wide variety of transactions, including licensing and service agreements, marketing arrangements, advertising and promotions, strategic relationships and mergers and acquisitions.

Jaime has significant experience assisting both start-ups and established companies with privacy and security issues, trademark and related licensing issues, and a variety of web-related matters, including terms of use, data collection and processing, and issues arising out of user-generated content and advertising and media campaigns conducted through social networks and mobile devices.

  • Marketing arrangements, content licensing, media, e-commerce, advertising and promotions (including sweepstakes and contests) and compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) laws
  • Advice on EU data protection law

Prior to launching her legal career, Jaime was a member of the Teach For America corps, where she taught seventh grade in Chicago. She also worked for a healthcare consulting company before joining the firm.
