Allison Wiseman Acker is a member in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group where she represents clients in complex business litigation, including securities class actions, derivative suits, and litigation related to mergers and acquisitions and breach of fiduciary duty. She has successfully litigated and resolved matters in a variety of industries including healthcare, financial services, construction, education, hospitality, life sciences, and manufacturing.
Allison’s practice focuses on:
- Complex Business Litigation– Advising businesses of all sizes in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, breach of warranty, fraud, consumer protection, and other business claims.
- Securities & Shareholder Litigation – Representing public and private companies in securities and shareholder class actions, derivative actions and merger and acquisition litigation involving claims for breach of fiduciary duty and breach of securities laws.
Allison is actively involved in the firm’s pro bono program with a focus on championing efforts to provide students with equitable access to resources and opportunities.
Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Allison was an associate at Hunton & Williams (now Hunton Andrews Kurth) in Richmond, Virginia, where she represented public and private companies and company executives in complex civil litigation, securities class actions, and investigations, as well as public-private partnership infrastructure financing. Allison earned her law degree from Harvard Law School and received a B.A. in English from Villanova University. Prior to law school, Allison taught English in St. Louis, MO, as a Corps Member of Teach For America.
