Peter focuses his practice on banking matters including lending, regulatory, corporate representation, leasing and real estate transactions.

Financial Transactions: Peter represents several state and national banks. As special counsel, he is involved in structuring commercial transactions including asset-based loans, real estate development, construction lending and equipment financing. Peter has extensive experience in counseling clients with respect to bank regulatory matters and creditor relations involving lender liability and loan workouts.

Representative Matters include:
  • Lead counsel for a community bank in a successful merger with a regional institution.
  • Representation of lender in complex financing of saw mill operation with multi state operations.
  • Representation of interim lender in a hotel project successfully utilizing new market tax credits.
  • Representation of sporting club developer in a foreign island resort.
  • Representation of lender in several condominium construction projects.
  • Successful representation of financial institution in complex dealer floor plan financing involving multiple intercreditor agreements.
  • Numerous asset based lending transactions involving a myriad of industries.
  • Successful representation of a community bank secondary public offering.

Peter spent most of his career running Malone & Hyde Financial Corp., a captive financial subsidiary of a wholesale food distributor with a portfolio in excess of $200,000,000. He later became President and CEO of Seven Oaks International, a publicly traded coupon clearing house.

Peter is a board member and past Chairman of ArtsMemphis. He also is on the board of directors for American Cancer Society (ACS) Mid-South Division, Inc. and successfully co-chaired an $8,500,000 campaign for the Memphis ACS Hope Lodge which opened December 2010. He currently serves on the UVA Memphis Jefferson Scholars Committee and is a Trustee of the Plough Foundation.

Peter and his wife, Corinne, have three children, Dudley, Peter and Mimsie.
