Pooneh Ghiassi is an associate in the Healthcare Practice Group of Bass, Berry & Sims PLC and currently serves on the firm’s Lateral Hiring Committee. Pooneh’s practice includes transactional, operational and regulatory work for a broad range of healthcare providers and companies including hospitals and health systems, physician organizations, ambulatory surgery centers and disease management companies.
Pooneh has helped clients through on-site assignments. This has been a valuable experience giving her insight to the challenges and demands that face in-house legal teams on a daily basis.
Healthcare Experience:
- Assisting healthcare providers with federal and state regulatory and operational issues;
- Negotiating and drafting various agreements for healthcare providers;
- Assisting healthcare providers with drafting legal and compliance policies;
- Self-referral and related issues affecting healthcare companies;
- Conducting due diligence and analysis of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions from a business and healthcare regulatory perspective;
- Representing healthcare providers in licensures and Medicare/Medicaid certification matters.
Pooneh graduated from the University of Melbourne in Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws, with honors. In 2005 she received her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.
Pooneh lives in Brentwood with her husband Mahan, a Neurosurgery resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and their son, Micah.
