Envision to Sell to KKR for $9.9 Billion

We represented Envision Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: EVHC) in its definitive agreement to sell to KKR in an all-cash transaction for $9.9 billion, including debt. KKR will pay $46 per Envision share in cash to buy the company, marking a 32 percent premium to the company's volume-weighted average share price from November 1, when Envision announced it was considering its options. The transaction is expected to close the fourth quarter of 2018. Read more

Bass, Berry & Sims Ranked 4th Largest Healthcare Practice in Nation by Modern Healthcare

Modern Healthcare released its annual ranking of the largest healthcare law firms in the United States. This year, Bass, Berry & Sims was listed as the 4th largest healthcare practice in the nation, the only firm headquartered in Tennessee to be listed in the top five.

The firms are ranked based on the number of healthcare lawyers employed in 2017 and by membership in the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). Based on this criteria, Bass, Berry & Sims reported that 207 attorneys work at least 50% of their time within the healthcare industry. Our multidisciplinary team provides regulatory counsel and comprehensive legal services to 35 publicly traded healthcare companies and more than 200 businesses in the healthcare industry located throughout the United States. In addition, our attorneys are active in leading industry organizations to monitor advancements and changes in this heavily regulated and constantly changing healthcare environment.
