Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Eli Richardson offered insight on the federal investigation into alleged misconduct by former Nashville General Sessions Judge Casey Moreland. New allegations question a campaign contribution made to Judge Moreland's re-election campaign by the father of woman who claimed she had a relationship with the judge and thereafter reportedly did not have to serve jail time to which she was sentenced in a DUI case. According to Eli's insight in the article, "In my experience, federal law enforcement is careful about not making crimes out of legitimate political activity. They are curious though about distinguishing between legitimate political activity and apparent political activity that may be not so legitimate."
