Primary Care Providers Win Challenge of CMS Interpretation of Enhanced Payment Law

With the help and support of the Tennessee Medical Association, 21 Tennessee physicians of underserved communities joined together and retained Bass, Berry & Sims to file suit against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to stop improper collection efforts. Our team, led by David King, was successful in halting efforts to recoup TennCare payments that were used legitimately to expand services in communities that needed them. Read more

Bass, Berry & Sims Welcomes Four Attorneys to the Firm

September 20, 2016

Nashville, Tenn., (September 20, 2016) – Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is pleased to welcome four new attorneys to the firm's Nashville office. 

Michael Cottone (Associate) focuses on representing clients in complex business disputes and in a variety of tax issues. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Cottone served as a law clerk to the Honorable Eugene E. Siler, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable J. Daniel Breen of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Cottone earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law (2014) and a B.A. from Middle Tennessee State University (2010).

Michael E. Hill (Associate) counsels clients on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and securities regulations matters and filings. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Hill served as a law clerk to the Honorable Karen K. Caldwell, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Hill earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law (2015) and a B.A. from the University of Southern California (2012).

Marc Tahiry (Attorney) assists clients with commercial real estate transactions with a focus on commercial leasing. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Tahiry served as the Member/Manager of a commercial real estate company where he led the acquisition and redevelopment of multi-family and mixed-use properties in Denver and Nashville. Tahiry earned his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law (2007) and a B.A. from The Citadel - The Military College of South Carolina (2002).

Rodrigo N. Valle (Associate) advises clients in intellectual property (IP) related matters and technology-based transactions, including license agreements, software and technology service transactions, and mergers and acquisitions involving technology and IP assets. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Valle was an associate at Ropes & Gray working out of the Tokyo office. Valle earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law (2010) and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University (2005).
