In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins. Bass, Berry & Sims Ranked as a Top Healthcare Law Firm in the East Coast by Chambers USA; Remains #1 in Tennessee for Eight Years

Nashville, Tenn., (May 21, 2015) – Three years after opening our Washington, D.C. office, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business has ranked the firm's Healthcare practice in the East Coast category. According to the publication's research, the healthcare team stands out for "its deep industry experience, regularly handling large-scale transactions and complex regulatory matters from its Tennessee base."

The firm received a #1 ranking from Chambers USA 2015 in the Tennessee category in six practice areas:

  • Banking & Finance
  • Corporate/M&A
  • Environment
  • Healthcare
  • Litigation: General Commercial
  • Real Estate

Bass, Berry & Sims was ranked #1 more times than any other firm in the Tennessee category.

In addition, thirty-six Bass, Berry & Sims attorneys have been listed as leaders in Chambers USA 2015. Thirty-five of those listed are from the firm's offices in Nashville and Memphis, the most attorneys listed of any firm in the state of Tennessee. Listings are based on thousands of in-depth interviews by Chambers USA staff who researched the strengths and reputations of attorneys all across the United States.

Four firm attorneys received additional recognitions:

  • C. Dewees Berry IV was named a "Senior Statesman" in Real Estate and Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use. Bob F.
