Primary Care Providers Win Challenge of CMS Interpretation of Enhanced Payment Law

With the help and support of the Tennessee Medical Association, 21 Tennessee physicians of underserved communities joined together and retained Bass, Berry & Sims to file suit against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to stop improper collection efforts. Our team, led by David King, was successful in halting efforts to recoup TennCare payments that were used legitimately to expand services in communities that needed them. Read more

The Healthcare Fraud & Abuse Review 2017 details all healthcare-related False Claims Act settlements from last year, organized by particular sectors of the healthcare industry. In addition to reviewing all healthcare fraud-related settlements, the Review includes updates on enforcement-related litigation involving the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute, and looks at the continued implications from the government's focus on enforcement efforts involving individual actors in connection with civil and criminal healthcare fraud investigations.

Bass, Berry & Sims Wins Top Honors at LMA National Conference

The marketing team at Bass, Berry & Sims received top honors in two categories at the 2015 Legal Marketing Association's (LMA) National Conference. The honorees were chosen from more than 170 entries in 16 categories to recognize excellence in legal marketing. From these submissions, the judges honored 51 firms with first, second, third place and honorable mention awards. The Bass, Berry & Sims team was honored in the following categories:

  • First Place for Media Relations Campaign: The firm was recognized for our partnership with local healthcare public affairs firm Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock and the targeted marketing plan surrounding the media campaign of our firm's win on behalf of a nonprofit community hospital against a multi-billion dollar publicly traded software giant. Through this successful campaign, Bass, Berry & Sims was able to elevate our national healthcare brand, spread the message about this achievement and gain new clients.
  • Third Place for Identity Campaign: Bass, Berry & Sims was recognized for our rebranding initiative launched in early 2014. Through this process we set out to clarify our brand, solidify key messages and create a consistent image across various media platforms.
