Nashville, Tenn., (July 29, 2014) – Bass, Berry & Sims is pleased to announce that Sehrish Siddiqui recently was recognized by Lawyers Of Color in their annual Hot List 2014. This list recognizes early- to mid-career attorneys who are excelling in the legal profession. Honorees will be profiled in Lawyers Of Color’s Hot List 2014 Issue, distributed on July 28, 2014.

Siddiqui grew up in Memphis and joined Bass, Berry & Sims in 2009. She counsels national public and private companies, including real estate investment trusts (REITs) and business development companies (BDCs), on a variety of transactions and matters, primarily related to corporate finance, compliance and governance. Prior to joining the firm, Siddiqui interned at the SEC in the Office of the Inspector General where she assisted with internal audits and investigations. She is active in the firm’s pro bono activities and, for the past several years, has helped coordinate the firm’s involvement in the free legal clinic for seniors. In addition, Siddiqui is active in a number of philanthropic and civic causes and currently serves on the board of the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA).

The honorees in the Hot List 2014 were chosen through a two-pronged process led by Lawyers Of Color. The selection committee – comprised of the editorial staff and advisers, as well as law school fellows and interns – spent months reviewing nominations and researching bar publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates. In addition, nominations were accepted from mentors, peers and colleagues. The committee made editorial picks based on research of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments or were active in legal pipeline initiatives. The honorees include in-house counsel, government attorneys, or law firm associates and partners. For the full list of honorees, click here.
