In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins. Bass, Berry & Sims Bolsters Intellectual Property & Technology Practice with Addition of Jason Rockman as Counsel

Washington, D.C. (May 7, 2014) – Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is pleased to announce that Jason M. Rockman has joined as Counsel in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Previously an associate at Dickstein Shapiro, the addition of Rockman bolsters the firm’s intellectual property and technology practice.

"Jason's commitment to delivering the best results based on his clients' needs is representative of the firm's values," said John Kelly, Managing Partner of the firm's Washington, D.C. office. "His expansive experience with intellectual property matters and deep technological background strengthen the firm's ability to serve our clients' business objectives."

Rockman focuses his practice on patent litigation and client counseling, including patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management and transaction guidance. He has represented clients before various U.S. district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association's Inter Partes Patent Proceedings and Litigation Committees.

Rockman received his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University and his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
