On December 1, 2016, Parker Hannifin Corporation and CLARCOR Inc. announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Parker will acquire CLARCOR for approximately $4.3 billion in cash, including the assumption of net debt. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the board of directors of each company. Upon closing of the transaction, expected to be completed by or during the first quarter of Parker’s fiscal year 2018, CLARCOR will be combined with Parker’s Filtration Group to form a leading and diverse global filtration business. Martha Allard and Russ Baldwin Promoted to Counsel Status

Nashville, Tenn., (November 11, 2013) - Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is pleased to announce that Martha B. Allard and Russell S. Baldwin have been promoted to Counsel status.

Allard joined Bass, Berry & Sims in 2012 as a contract attorney in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice with more than 10 years of experience in counseling clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademark selection, prosecution and enforcement. She has been involved in various trademark and patent infringement matters in federal court, and has represented clients in inter partes proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Allard practiced at Waddey & Patterson, P.C., an intellectual property law boutique firm in Nashville and prior to that at Cummings & Lockwood, P.C. in Stamford, Connecticut.

Baldwin joined the firm in 2002 as an associate in the litigation department. His practice concentrates on complex business litigation, appellate litigation, and administrative and regulatory proceedings, including government contracting and investigations. Before joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Baldwin serviced as an assistant Tennessee attorney general, where he represented the state in appellate litigation, legislative affairs, and litigation cases. Baldwin formerly served in the United States Army and is currently a Lieutenant Colonel, Judge Advocate Generals Corps in the Tennessee Air National Guard, where he serves as Command Judge Advocate for the 230th Sustainment Brigade.
