In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins. Bass, Berry & Sims PLC Managing Partner Keith Simmons Elected Chair of Lex Mundi

Nashville, Tenn., (May 14, 2012) - Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is pleased to announce that Managing Partner Keith Simmons has been elected chair of the board of directors of Lex Mundi. Lex Mundi is the world's leading association of independent law firms with 160 firms of over 21,000 lawyers in 120 different countries. There is a Lex Mundi firm in each state of the United States, each province of Canada, and in each commercially developed country of the world. Bass, Berry & Sims is the Lex Mundi member firm for Tennessee.

Simmons will lead a 16-member board of directors composed of representatives of member firms from around the world. Simmons succeeds Simon Truskett of Clayton Utz, the member firm for Australia.

Simmons has been the managing partner of Bass, Berry & Sims since 1995. As recently announced, he will step down as managing partner at the end of 2012 and be succeeded by Todd Rolapp, currently the head of the firm's Corporate and Securities Practice Group.
