Nashville, Tenn., May 31, 2007 - Bass, Berry & Sims welcomes Mary Beth Fortugno to its Nashville Downtown office.
Mary Beth is an associate in the Healthcare Industry Practice Area. She focuses her practice on healthcare regulatory matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mary Beth worked for IASIS Healthcare, an acute care hospital company with 15 hospitals in six states. During her time with IASIS, Mary Beth served as operations counsel for the Florida and Texas markets where she provided regulatory advice and worked directly with the hospitals in connection with financial arrangements with referral sources. Mary Beth also oversaw healthcare litigation matters including responding to governmental investigations.
Mary Beth received her Bachelor's of Arts from Vanderbilt University and received her Master of Science from Florida State University. She graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1999, where she was the associate editor of Journal of Transnational Law; the recipient of the Vanderbilt Scholastic Excellence Award in Administrative Law, Federal Tax, Professional Responsibility; and the research assistant for Havighurst, Blumstein, and Brennan for Health Care Law and Policy published by the Foundation Press. Mary Beth also was elected to Order of the Coif.
She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association (Secretary, 2002) and a past member of Harry Phillips American Inn of Court. Mary Beth is currently admitted to practice in Tennessee.
