Lauren is an associate in the Healthcare Practice Group. She represents a wide range of healthcare clients with their regulatory and operational needs including:
  • Representing hospitals and laboratories in healthcare fraud matters, including conducting internal investigations, responding to governmental inquiries, and assisting in the defense of whistleblower lawsuits.
  • Representing clients in responding to claims audits and the appeal of audit results performed by RACs, ZPICs and MICs.
  • Advising health plans and providers in the area of managed care.
  • Assisting healthcare providers with certificate of need and licensure issues. 
  • Assisting healthcare providers with federal and state regulatory and operational issues. 
  • Advising clients on strategy regarding accountable care organizations (ACOs) from a regulatory and business perspective.

Prior to joining the firm, Lauren worked as an operations counsel intern for HCA Inc. and as an intern for Vanderbilt University Risk and Insurance Management.

While at Vanderbilt University Law School, Lauren served as notes editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review and authored "The Circle of Assent: How “Agreement” Can Save Mandatory Arbitration in Long-Term Care Contracts," 62 Vand. L. Rev. 1017 (2009). She received the Scholastic Excellence Award in Health Law & Policy and Professional Responsibility and was elected to the Order of the Coif.

Lauren won the collegiate national cycling championship as an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University where she majored in Human and Organizational Development. After graduation, she was a professional road cyclist for Ford-Basis.
