Jeff is a Member in the firm's Nashville office and previously served as the chair of the Public Finance Practice Area and chairman of the firm's recruiting committee. He is a native of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1993, where he was the top graduate in the college of liberal arts-social sciences. He graduated from Vanderbilt School of Law in 1996. His public finance experience includes:
- Serving as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and letter of credit bank's counsel for a wide variety of private activity bond issues
- Serving as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and issuer's counsel for a variety of financings for local governments, including:
- General obligation bond issues for cities and counties
- Water, sewer, gas and electric revenue bond issues for municipal utilities and utility districts
- Revenue bond issues for municipally-owned telecommunications systems
- Serving as bond counsel for loans by Rural Development, United States Department of Agriculture, (formerly Farmer's Home Administration) to local governments and utility districts
- Representing utility districts in their day-to-day affairs
Jeff spent two years in the firm's Corporate and Securities Practice Area, where he represented a variety of clients in connection with mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses. He continues to represent several of the firm's clients in this capacity, including representation in connection with acquisitions of nursing home facilities and acquisitions and dispositions of municipally-owned utilities systems.
