John joined Bass, Berry & Sims in 2011 as an associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice.

Prior to joining the firm, John served a one-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable J. Daniel Breen, United States District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee. John earned a B.S. in English from Vanderbilt University in 2002, where he was extensively involved with theatre and music, including actively participating in the Vanderbilt University Theatre as well as the Vanderbilt Dodecaphonics, Vanderbilt’s only all-male a cappella singing group. He received his M.A. in Theatre Studies in 2005 from Florida State University. He earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2009, where he served as the senior notes editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review and earned Scholastic Excellence Awards in Criminal Law, Introduction to Accounting and Antitrust.

John enjoys music, theatre, cooking, sports and doing impressions. As seasonally appropriate, John frequently can be found on either the golf course or ski slopes.
