Gil concentrates his practice in the areas of Real Estate, Financial Transactions and Real Estate Capital Markets. He works on matters concerning the acquisition, development, structuring, leasing and financing of commercial real estate projects, including multifamily housing, office buildings, shopping centers, hospitality developments and retail and mixed-use developments. He also represents private companies in a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions and provides general commercial representation to various privately held companies.

Real Estate: Gil represents local, regional and national clients in the acquisition, development, financing, ownership, operation and disposition of various real estate projects including multi-family properties, hotels, shopping centers, office buildings, and industrial buildings. Gil also has experience representing commercial and residential developers in development transactions and financings and representing landlords and tenants in office, retail and industrial leases, subleases and ground leases.

Financial Transactions: Gil has experience representing local, regional and national borrowers and lenders in a variety of real estate and asset based loan transactions, including loan participations, defeasance transactions and credit enhancements on bond transactions.

Real Estate Capital Markets: Gil works with traded and non-traded REITs in the acquisition and disposition of properties and in the negotiation of credit facilities with institutional lenders for the purchase and financing of such properties.

Representative Matters include:
  • Represents publicly held REIT in connection with acquisition and disposition of multi-family communities throughout the Southeast and Southwest and in connection with negotiating, expanding, revising multiple credit facilities.
  • Represents non-traded REIT in connection with acquisition and disposition of office and multi-use properties nationally and with negotiating, expanding, revising multiple credit facilities. Recently represented the REIT in replacement of single credit facility with three separate credit facilities.
  • Represented publicly held REIT in connection with negotiation of credit facility with national institutional lender.
  • Represents hotel developers in acquisition and financing of hotel development projects in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Florida.
  • Represents national and local community banks in real estate and asset based loan transactions to developers, medical practices, investors, and users.
  • Represents developer group in acquisition and operation of recreational vehicle communities throughout the Southeast and Southwest.
