Five Attorneys Join Bass, Berry & Sims' Nashville Downtown Office


Nashville, Tenn., September 4, 2007 -  Bass, Berry & Sims is pleased to announce that Starr J. Brown, Brian M. DobbsAnnie M. Warnock, Robert E. Fleu and Lucas R. Smith have joined the firm's Nashville Downtown office.

Starr J. Brown is an associate in the firm's Healthcare Industry Practice Area.  Following her graduation from New York University with a bachelor's degree in sociology, Starr attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York and received her law degree in 2005.  Prior to joining the firm, she served as an associate in the health sciences practice of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, LLP in Columbus, Ohio. 

Brian M. Dobbs is an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Area.  His practice will include construction, real estate and business litigation as well as construction contracting.  Prior to joining the firm, Brian was an associate with Berry & Perkins, PC in Irvine, California, where his practice involved construction law and litigation, real estate transactions and litigation, and general business litigation.  In 1994, he graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and Spanish.  He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 2001.

Annie M. Warnock is a staff attorney in the firm's Labor and Employment Practice Area where she will primarily assist clients with various aspects of labor relations and employment law.  Prior to joining the firm, she focused on labor and employment law as a litigation associate at Frost Brown Todd LLC in Lexington, Kentucky.  In 2001, Annie received her bachelor's degree in psychology summa cum laude and in 2004, her law degree cum laude , both from the University of Kentucky.

Robert E. Fleu is an associate in the firm's Corporate and Securities Practice Area.  His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, venture financing and compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Trade Commission and "blue sky" agencies.  Most recently, Robert practiced as an associate at Pedley Zielke Gordinier & Pence, PLLC in Louisville, Kentucky.  He graduated from Transylvania University summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science and in 2000, he received his law degree cum laude from the University of Kentucky.

Lucas R. Smith is an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Area.  His litigation experience includes directors' and officers' liability insurance, commercial general liability insurance, antitrust matters and qui tam issues.  Prior to joining the firm, he practiced as an associate at Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP in Washington, D.C.  In 2001, Lucas received an Honors Bachelor of Arts from Xavier University, where he studied Greek, Latin and philosophy.  He graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2005 and also received a Master of Theological Studies from the Vanderbilt University Divinity School, where he focused on ethics.
