(NYSE: HS), one of the country’s largest Medicare Advantage coordinated care plans, in its merger agreement with Cigna Corporation (NYSE: CI) in which Cigna will acquire HealthSpring for approximately $3.8 billion. HealthSpring’s leadership team, headed by its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herb Fritch, will lead Cigna’s expansion in the seniors and Medicare segments.
