We are representing a large paper manufacturer in connection with an explosion of a caustic chemical from a large industrial valve that sent four employees to a burn center. We conducted the crisis response/investigation into this matter, including placement of a litigation hold, collecting all relevant documentation, facilitating witness interviews, collection and preserving evidence, retaining experts, conducting pre-litigation evidence testing, placing other parties on notice of a potential claim, and submitted an expert report to OSHA to address some of OSHA’s concerns regarding the incident. We successfully obtained an OSHA determination that no citations or penalties were warranted against the company.
