Acquisition of General Acute-Care Hospital by HealthTech Management Services

We represented HealthTech Management Services (formerly Brim Healthcare of Texas, LLC, an affiliate of Brim Healthcare, Inc.), in its March 2009 acquisition of Wadley Regional Medical Center, a 370-bed general acute-care hospital located in Texarkana, Texas. Our client acquired the medical center out of Wadley’s’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding and was the successful high bidder in an auction process run by the debtor for the hospital. HealthTech formed a joint venture with local physicians to purchase the hospital and provided interim debtor in possession financing to allow the hospital to operate pending the sale.
